Sometimes it’s enough just to see the water be in a peaceful place. Diablo Canyon is one of those places. Popular with climbers who scale it’s many sheer faces, it’s also a great place to see the Rio Grande and to camp close to Santa Fe. From the mouth of the canyon, it’s slightly more than a mile walk down to the Rio Grande. Alternatively, Old Buckman Road also continues to it’s end at the river. Consider that the indigenous Tanoan people lived along the river in this same area thousands of years ago.
